SHOW SYNOPSIS

The Taming of the Shrew is one of Shakespeare’s most beloved and controversial comedies, filled with wit, disguises, and unexpected romance. The story follows the spirited and headstrong Katherina, who has no interest in marriage—much to the frustration of her father, who insists she must wed before her younger, more desirable sister, Bianca.

Enter Petruchio, a bold and clever suitor determined to “tame” Katherina and win her dowry. What follows is a battle of wills, sharp-tongued exchanges, and surprising transformations as love, identity, and societal expectations collide.

This fast-paced comedy offers rich roles for performers of all types, with opportunities for physical humor, dramatic flair, and clever wordplay. Join us as we bring this classic story to life with fresh energy and bold choices.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Please prepare a 1-minute Shakespearean monologue of your choice. â€‹â€‹
