The Vero Beach Theatre Guild has a brand new schedule and platform for the upcoming 2018-2019 season! For the first time in its 60 year history there will be a show each and every month of the year! The Guild went to a six-show season when the board decided it wanted to operate on a year- round basis, then added four staged play readings in front of the grand drape, affectionately deemed the Apron Series.
The main stage line-up features five contemporary plays and a perennial favorite musical.
The new season opens July 10 with “The Dixie Swim Club”, a touching comedy about friendships that last forever by the comedic playwright team of Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten. The production features a cast of five women who reunite every year for more than 40 years at a North Carolina beach house. The banter that ensues is hilarious, “very funny” according to the show’s director Art Pingree.
