AUGUST 10th & 24th
The Vero Beach Theatre Guild is excited to announce 2 Master Classes in Acting taught by Michael Naffziger. Each workshop is designed for either the beginner, intermediate or experienced actor who wishes to learn more about his or her craft.
Tuition for each class is $25 per student or $40 if enrolling in both classes at the time of registering. When enrolling online, the discount will automatically apply itself when you register for both classes at the same time. Registration can be done in person or by phoning the box office Mondays through Fridays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and the box office will accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover card, cash or check. Registration is available online. A $2 service fee applies to on line registrations.
Registration deadline for the August 10th Master Class will be Wednesday, August 7th and the deadline for the August 24th Master Class will be Wednesday, August 21st.
Class sizes are limited to 30 students each and enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. It is anticipated that these classes will fill up rapidly.
August 10th - Meeting Meisner
10 am - 2 pm with a brown bag lunch break (bring your own)
The Meisner Technique, created by Sanford Meisner, is a series of exercises allowing an actor to truly hear and respond on stage. This workshop will introduce the actor to this technique, creating genuine responses, and more honest performances. This is a great workshop for actors who are looking to create genuine, real responses on the stage.
August 24th - Checking in with Checkhov
10 am to 2 pm with a brown bag lunch break (bring your own)
The Chekhov Technique, created by Michel Chekhov, is a process of discovering a character through movement. This workshop will apply the Psychological Gesture, Archetypes, and explore the actors "center". This is a great workshop for actors to discover new, believable ways of moving as a character.
MEET MICHAEL NAFFZIGER
MICHAEL NAFFZIGER is the Theatre Director for the award winning theatre program at the Schumann School for the Visual and Performing Arts at Indian River charter High School. Michael is a TONY Nominated theatre educator, and has been working as an actor, director, and teacher in the theatre arts for over twenty years.
