Up Next: Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol

In Charles Dickens’ novella “A Christmas Carol,” Ebenezer Scrooge is a mean, sour, cheap old business partner. Tom Mula’s comic play “Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol” begins with Jacob Marley chained and shackled in a hellish eternity. To free himself, he must redeem Scrooge and in the process he redeems himself but not without a lot of laughs in between.

This two-hour comic play, performed Friday at 7:30 pm Dec. 7, Saturday at 2 pm Dec. 8 and Sunday at 2 pm Dec. 9, is an Apron Series Reader’s production. Actor’s read from scripts but move around the stage to add to the entertainment.

Patti Hall will direct the play and Scott Freshley, in the title role, leads a cast of Jeffery Barkwell, Paul Williams, Don Keeper, Claude Cooper, Jerry Reichert and Jeff Hall. Sam and Katrin Peck are sponsors of the comedy play.
