Guild on the Go

GUILD ON THE GO, the Guild's traveling troupe of talented performers directed by Sandi Lardani, enjoyed a very busy 2006-2007 season. They returned to all of last season's venues and added more locations to showcase the talent that the Guild has to offer. For their efforts, they received more than $2,800 in donations to benefit the Guild.

The show titled "Gershwin And Friends"  brought standing ovations and invitations to return everywhere they played.

New venues included Bent Pine Country Club, The Lakes At Point West and two Turtle Trax celebrations. The troupe also added shows at St. Francis Manor, Village Green and The Isles Of Vero. Repeat performance venues were at The Indian River Club, Oak Harbor Club and Spanish Lakes Country Club, to name a few.

Craig Waskow, General Manager of Bent Pine Golf Club, who was thrilled with the show, made the comment that "The Vero Beach Theatre Guild's "Guild On The Go" brought a wonderful performance to the Bent Pine Golf Club that was enjoyed by members and guests alike.

"The variety of the music and quality of the voices in the ensemble equals that of a professional troupe,'' he said.

"Our troupe is growing in number and versatility," said Sandi.

Members returning from last season include: Paul Amaru, Sara Teel Gordon, Daniel Hall, Dave Panula, Nancy Stroop and Carolyn Toohey. Joining us this year were Sara Dessureau, Ed Dessureau, Gerry King , Nikki Monahan, Tom Muniz, John Toohey and Mark Verbeck. The addition of the wonderful Gerry King added dance and costuming to the show.

"We also have been fortunate to have Ed Dessureau join us as our sound technician and dance partner for Gerry," Sandi said. "All of these dedicated volunteers donate their time and talent in support of the Guild."

Dan Hall quotes, 'As a performer, I am thrilled to have been part of Guild On The Go for over 15 years. Originally, under the auspices of Dottie Hays, and now with Sandi Lardani at the helm. GOTG gives me the opportunity to broaden my range and perform songs that I may never see produced on the mainstage of the Guild.

"Also, as General Manager of Oak Harbor, I am pleased to be bringing the troupe back to our club this year - the third year in a row, due to member request! Sandi and my fellow performers have introduced an entire theatre to many of our members who had never 'crossed the river' to come see our shows.

"At our last Oak Harbor performance, the troupe barely took it's last bow when members started asking, 'When are we having them back'.

"I am so proud to have worked with this talented group to promote the Vero Beach Theatre Guild," Dan said.

The troupe is busy planning a new program for the Guild's 50th Anniversary season. In addition to return engagements at all last year's venues, they have been requested to perform a holiday show in December at Grand Harbor and Oak Harbor.

Also in the works is ' Guild On The Go At Home,' slated at the Guild in July 2008. The show will highlight music, dance and skits compiled from the musicals performed at the Guild over the past 50 years.
